These terms apply when booking or attending training with Southall Submission Grappling.

About Us

Southall Submission Grappling (“we”, “us” or “the Club”) provides Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and submission grappling training classes in Southall, London.

Classes, Venue and Timetable

Classes are held at the main hall of the Sports Centre next to Featherstone High School, Southall.

Saturday 1:00pm–3:00pm — No-Gi
Sunday 2:00pm–3:30pm — Gi

Classes are currently available to participants aged 13 and over. The timetable, venue, instructor, class format or availability may change.

Booking and Fees

The current price is £10 per class, unless a different price is clearly stated at the time of booking.

By booking or attending a class, you agree to these Terms and reasonable safety instructions given by the Club or venue.

Cancellations, Missed Classes and Club Cancellations

If you cannot attend a class, please notify us as early as reasonably possible. Refunds, transfers or credits are subject to the booking terms and applicable law.

If we cancel a class for which you have paid in advance, we will offer an appropriate transfer, credit or refund as required by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights you may have.

Safety and Conduct

Participants must follow reasonable instructions from the instructor and venue staff and train in a controlled and respectful manner.

Participants must not intentionally injure, intimidate or recklessly endanger another person, or use techniques that are not authorised or appropriate for the class.

Participants should tap early and clearly and must immediately release a submission when their partner taps or the instructor instructs them to stop. Anyone under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs must not participate.

Hygiene, Clothing and Equipment

Participants must wear suitable, clean training clothing and appropriate Gi or No-Gi equipment. Finger and toenails should be kept short and clean. Jewellery and watches should be removed.

Participants must not train with open wounds, uncovered skin infections or other contagious conditions. Relevant concerns should be reported to the instructor.

Health and Fitness

Participants are responsible for deciding whether they are medically and physically able to participate. If you have a medical condition, recent injury or other concern, seek appropriate medical advice before training.

Participants must tell the instructor about relevant changes in health or injury.

Participants Under 18

Participants aged 13–17 require consent from a parent or legal guardian before participating. The parent or legal guardian must provide accurate emergency and relevant medical information and notify the Club of material changes.

The Club will maintain reasonable safeguarding arrangements appropriate to the activities and venue.

Injuries and Emergency Assistance

Participants must report injuries or incidents to the instructor as soon as reasonably practicable.

If an emergency occurs, the Club may provide appropriate first aid within the responder’s competence and may contact emergency services and/or the emergency contact where appropriate.

Liability

Jiu-Jitsu is a physical contact sport and carries inherent risks, including accidental contact, falls, strains, sprains and other injuries.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability to the extent that such exclusion or limitation would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Personal Belongings

Participants are responsible for their personal belongings. We recommend that valuables are not brought into the training area.

Photography, Video and Social Media

Photography or video should only be taken and used in accordance with the Club’s consent arrangements and applicable privacy and data protection requirements. Separate consent should be obtained for promotional use of identifiable images, particularly for under-18s.

Privacy and Personal Data

We may collect personal information such as your name, contact details, age, emergency contact details and relevant health information to administer classes and manage safety. Please read our separate Privacy Notice for full details.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply.
